Tactical Doll M4A1 wields the same model of assault rifle that she is named after in a scene from the upcoming Girls' Frontline TV anime.

A dramatic new preview video and new cast members have been revealed for Girls’ Frontline (known in Japan as Dolls Frontline), an upcoming TV anime based on the tactical RPG smart phone game developed by SUNBORN Network Technology and Mica Team that features battle androids named after real life firearms waging war in desolate future world. The new cast members include:

  • Nozomi Yamane as G43.
  • Eriko Matsui as Scorpion.
  • Sumire Uesaka as PPSh-41.
  • Tomomi Mineuchi as UMP45.
  • Mamiko Noto as UMP9.
  • Ai Nonaka as 416.
  • Ayaka Fukuhara as Gr G11.
  • Ayaka Suwa as Negev.
  • Yume Maihara as TAR-21.
  • Karin Mitarai as Galil.
  • And Saori Ōnishi as Micro Uzi.

Set in a future following environmental catastrophe and World War III, Girls’ Frontline posits a world in which androids known as “dolls” have surpassed the capabilities of their human creators, resulting in “T-Dolls” (“tactical dolls”) replacing human soldiers on battlefields. When the AI of the Sangvis Ferri corporation rebels and begins seizing territory and slaughtering humanity, it falls to the PMC Griffin & Kryuger and their squad of T-Dolls to try to contain the damage.

Girls’ Frontline is directed by Shigeru Ueda and features animation production by Asahi Production. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan on TOKYO MX and BS11 beginning on January 07, 2022, with an additional broadcast to follow on AT-X beginning on January 10, 2022.
