Montreal police investigators have seized close to 20 weapons from the ex-husband of a woman who endured harassment and threats.

A total of 17 firearms were discovered at the suspect’s residence located in the suburb of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Montreal’s police service said Monday.

The unidentified suspect, 38, was apprehended at his residence Sunday night. The man allegedly harassed and threatened his ex-wife, who had left him a few weeks ago to seek refuge with a relative in Montreal.

The suspect is facing charges of criminal harassment, uttering threats and unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons.
