Police officers, including tactical members, responded to the 1400 block of Garnet Street on Thursday in searches of two residences.
Continued investigation into alleged illegal firearms and drugs led to police obtaining and executing a search warrant for two properties on the 1400 block of Garnet Street. Because of the belief firearms were involved, Regina Police Service SWAT was assisted by an RCMP tactical response team, according to the Regina Police Service.
A public advisory was initially issued around 10 a.m. asking that people stay out of the area because of a “police operation.” About two hours later, police sent an update indicating the operation had ended.
Details of searches, as well as any arrests and charges have yet to be announced. Further details were not available as of early Thursday evening.
